About Anuja Balasubramanian

Anuja Balasubramanian is an Internet cooking show host and the co-founder of ShowMeTheCurry.com, an online Indian cooking show. She started this site along with her neighbor and friend Hetal, in 2007. Anuja sees herself as a true "product of India". "My Dad was in the army and so we hopped all over the country" she says. Anuja studied in many different schools before graduating from Delhi University. Later, she took on Fashion Designing from South Delhi Polytechnic and worked in various garment export houses. In 1990, Anuja moved to the USA and switched fields. She worked in the travel industry until the birth of her first son. Anuja is happily married and has two wonderful boys. Her days of being a full time mom ended when her younger son started school. Faced with extra time on her hands, Anuja turned to doing something fun for herself. Working with Hetal, a friend and neighbor, gives me the flexibility and the comfortable work environment that I need to follow my passion and yet take care of my kids once they get home from school. It’s like having your cake and eating it too! Besides cooking her other passions are traveling, reading and music. |
